One might say that X provides a "standard" mechanism, but it
explicitly avoids any say about the look & feel of clients...

att/sun's new announcement (whatever it's called, "unix/look" or
something), is apparently vying to be a "standard" look & feel, but I
really doubt they did it right (i.e., it probably won't conform to
all MY opinions on the matter).
