His suggestion was to BRUN KERMIT382, then issue the Kermit command SET PREFIX /MYVOL/KERMIT.3.82. Next issue the Kermit command EXIT to get back to the APPLESOFT prompt and then do a BSAVE KERMIT382,A$1000,L$6F00. I tried this and it works great! Now each time I execute Kermit, the prefix is set to point to the subdirectory that contains the KERMIT.INIT and KERMIT.MODEM files. Ted Medin was also kind enough to respond. He suggested that I move the KERMIT.INIT and KERMIT.MODEM files to the root directory. This would also have worked, but I prefer the other solution. I thank both gentlemen for their prompt and helpful responses. ------------------------------------------------------------------- J.
