The problem is that when I back up(non-dest) or backspace (dest) the screen is sometimes not updated, my host gets the key and the file is altered but more often than not it does not(sometimes it displays similar updated text but the screen still doesn't match the file.) I know it's not emacs or the host since I have used both on other machines (MacKermit, MS-Kermit, on console). I believe it's not my 80 col. card since I have tried two different ones, and I get the same prob. Yes, it only happens backing up. Setup: Late model Apple ][+, AE Viewmaster 80 in slot 3, 16K in slot 0, Buffered Grappler+ w/Apple DMP in slot 1, SSC compat. with Gandalf DOV 640 modem running at 9600b in slot 2, Mockingboard in slot 4, floppies in slot 6. Any remedies or ideas greatly appreciated. Second, since I added the Viewmaster 80 my Apple takes between 15s and 5min before the power light comes on, then it wants to be turned off then on before it will begin the boot. Sounds to me like a power suppy prob, but since I'm posting anyway, I'd like a 2nd, 3rd, nth opinion before I run out and spend the little money I have. One last thing before I go, Are there any term emulators out there that are 1) inexpensive 2)something reasonable(vtxxx, h19, etc) 3)incredibly fast. My serial card and the modem, and my host can do 19.2Kb which although not necessary would be fun to do. As it is 9600 is pushing it on the screen updates. Sorry for the long post, and much thanks for any replies, Drew D. Holzlein dh2y@andrew.cmu.edu dh2y@andrew.cmu.edu.bitnet
