IS it really true (as claimed by Chuck McManis) that SS disks are
"burnished" (polished?) on one side only and that the other side
physically wears down your drive's head?  That would mean that SS
disks (including the original disks of almost all commercial SW for
the ST!) are a bad idea in a DS drive, EVEN IF ONLY ONE SIDE IS USED!

I personally cannot see a difference in smoothness between the sides,
but you might need a microscope...
