(i'm trying to be as kind as possible :^). we started out giving what we thought would be serious, constructive comments to our favorite company and a few compasionate souls there (a. pratt, et al) were actually concerned and tried to respond. the problem is THEY take pride in themselves (and presumably) their company. the ringleaders have a more fiscal outlook and recognize that we are an awfully small sample, hardly worth the effort. in a fit of compasion we also though we were trying to educate our fellow readers as to what goes on "behind the scenes" (as if they really did not know). now we are getting sarcastic and hence bitter. i guess i'm just too tired of the same old thing. let's ask ourselves: is it really worth the extra gray hair or two? i mean, why the heck bother anymore? it does zero good. the "average" reader of this newsgroup (based on postings) is either not a developer and hence happy with the machine (because it's a good value) or just doesn't care anymore. and you know nothing you say has any impact AT ALL on how the T's run the show. forget it, guys, it's not working. just count to 10, calm down, and don't use the F or f key! -bill (i will remain forever silent about atari. i will also refrain from doing much serious development work on any atari product, not that commodore/apple are much better. better to tough it out in the ibm [serious] world. besides, if all goes well, i should have a sun 386 to play with in a month or two :^)
