Why do these things always happen to me? My RK07 just crashed 3 out of 4 heads and I wouldn't take a chance with the 4th. Anybody got any? I would like to either replace these heads or get a different drive cheaply, since this is my own machine and I can't afford a really expensive drive or DEC service. It's on an 11/34 (unibus) and I do have room for an RH11, but can't afford one from one of the used equipment dealers. On a slightly less depressing note, I'd also like to ask if anyone has succesfully run a 4.x BSD system using terminals on Decservers connected to a network. The network would consist of only a VAX 11/750 and the terminal servers. Forgive me if this is a stupid question, I'm new to networking; but it seems like a reasonable idea to me. I have not been able to find any code that looks like a driver for something like this- the ethernet code is there, but nothing to tie it in with unix tty's... But as I said I don't really understand networking and ethernet. Thanks a lot for any help. -Eric Volpe Choate Rosemary Hall Wallingford, CT (203) 281-0690 decvax!yale!spock!eric 42 October Hill Rd, Hamden, CT 06518
