We recently installed 7 Mac SEs and an AppleTalk Imagewriter connected on
a localtalk network.  A LaserWriter will be added to the network in the
near future.  The SE's have 2 floppy drives and 1 Mb of memory. I need to
know what hardware and/or software is available to spool or buffer the
printers effectively.  At the present time, anyone who gets in the print
queue is forced to wait for their own and all preceding print jobs to
finish before their system becomes available for use again.  Of course,
we would like to minimize costs in solving this problem.

I would also like to receive comments on the following two topics:

     1.  Is is correct that a hard disk is needed for effective use of
     software print spoolers?

     2.  Is it correct that the Mac prints so slowly that the Immagewriter
     // can out run it, making a hardware buffer useless.

Any assistance and information would be greatly appreciated.
