Sorry, but niether 1.44meg 3.5" disk nor 1.2meg 5.25" disks can be installed
on a PC class machine such as the SX. You need a disk controller that can
talk to the drive at double the normal data rate to use these drives. (I
think there's also some special 'handshaking' involved too)

I've seen ads for replacement controllers that will allow this on other
PC clones, but isn't the floppy controller on the 1000 part of the
motherboard? If so, you are likely out of luck.
