Thanks to all who responded to my posting regarding R2 installation on
a Sun 3/280 w/high-res monitor. The problem, as pointed out by Farhad
Shakeri, Bob Scheifler and Dan Christian, was caused by Sun's 3.2
compiler optimization. I recompiled without optimization and everything
is now working fine.
