Message-ID: <29718@linus.UUCP> Date: 20 Apr 88 12:58:12 GMT Reply-To: deford@zippy.UUCP (Kevin Deford) Organization: The MITRE Corporation, Bedford MA Lines: 18 I just brought up the basic version of X.V11R2 on our sun 3/160's running OS 3.5. I am running X on a 3/75 monachrome display, with the 160 as a NFS mount. After moving my .Xdefaults file somewhere, I was able to run xinit and have it come up with a window in the default location. However, there was no text in that window. I could run things within the window and they ran ok - things like xclock, gnu etc. But xterm never came up with any text. I made sure to use the -p4 option to the font compiler, and changed the destination of the files. I noticed a previous message about a similar problem, but on a color display. That suggestion failed. Anybody else out there have a similar problem? -- Kevin M.
