I am in the process of bringing up X.V11R2 on my Sun 3/60-cg4.  I have
been having some "problems" with the root window color.  When the X
server starts, it paints a grey cross-hatched window -- the standard
root, but grey.  I have been trying to make it a blue tint instead,
like I had with X10.  I have tried the "-bp" and "-wp" parameters on
the Xsun invocation, and have been trying to use xsetroot to effect
the change.

In no case can I get the root window color to change, except with the
xsetroot "-solid" option, which works just fine to set any solid
background color.

Moreover, the specification of "-grey" or "-gray" to xsetroot causes
an immediate core dump of the server.

Can anyone give me a clue about all of this?  I tried to search back
comp.windows.x messages for a mention of this, and didn't see one.
