I'm looking for a few brave beta testers. If you think you've got the right stuff, get the file /usr/weaver/adamj/softcursor.tar.Z via anonymous ftp from weaver.berkeley.edu (128.32.184.3), untar it onto an X source tree, delete X.V11R2/server/ddx/sun/sunGC.* (which is no longer used), and build the server. Winnage: - No sun dependencies. - Does not require a memory-mapped display. - Lints better. - Two seperate interface tiers + One for drawing and undrawing the cursor. + One for figuring out when the cursor should be undrawn. I stress that this is a BETA version. The code seems to work for the Sun 3/50's. I'm really interested in finding out if it works in unusual configurations, like two dissimilar screens, or on a custom X11 port. This should simplify quick X11 server ports. Adam J.
