Use of the 'btoa' routine instead of uuencode would save 12% (!) on binary postings. This is a PD program, included in the compress package, and runs just fine on a PC. All the discussion of using PKARC to save 1-2% or not using it to save time for many of the people on the net seems pointless. We should use both (standard) arc and zoo formats, uuencode them, and save bandwidth by dropping this discussion.
