I'd have to agree. He also says that discussions and design sessions (presumably like IPC) should not occur on the net, but instead should take place via email. I disagree for two reasons. 1) Email is extremely unreliable; the "standard" figure (i.e. the one I hear the most) is that 40% of replies get bounced. Seems higher to me; clearly it varies. And 2) I don't see anything in news.announce.newusers, nor in news.groups, that supports this opinion. I agree that brevity is a great thing, but I can't see how you could insist that it's the only thing.
