(Yes, I used high-density disks) I had a similar problem with an IBM PC/AT. I would allow me to format it as a 1.2Mb drive. Upon investigation, it was the BIOS that was not allowing the 1.44Mb. If your clone has the Phoenix BIOS, you might try to get a hold of a newer version for your XT. I have a version of the Phoenix BIOS for the AT that recognizes the drive fine. Hope this helps. Chris.
