The net is for messages of general interest to the USENET community. I found the offer interesting, as I'm sure did many people who are not Source subscribers but who might be willing to subscribe if it were cheaper. Granted, this offer was not enough to entice me, but it was still an interesting offer. If we were to take the definition of what is a legitimate posting as nar- rowly as you seem to suggest, we might have to eliminate whole newsgroups. Certainly comp.newprod would have to go. I, for one, am interested in hearing about offers of this sort. If you want to argue about whether it should have been in this newsgroup, that is another story.
