Message-ID: Date: 4 May 88 22:22:55 GMT Organization: Carnegie Mellon Lines: 32 Well, I have a reproduceable panic... SCO Xenix SysV/286 v2.2.1, with the Public Domain PTY driver posted for SCO. When I: % tar cf - . | compress >> /dev/FIFO & % dd if=/dev/FIFO bs=24k | bundle /dev/rfd096ds15 1200k 24k It whirrs away for about thirty seconds, then panics as: TRAP 000D in SYSTEM ax=A566 bx=B956 cx=0000 dx=0000 si=0166 di=0000 bp=038A fl=0217 uds=0018 es=0090 pc=0038:3BFF ksp=036C panic: general protection trap and then it shut down, waiting for power off or a keypress to reboot. Compress in the pipe above is the Xenix modified Compress 4.0, /dev/FIFO is a named pipe made with "/etc/mknod /dev/FIFO p", and bundle is the "stream in, write to multiple tapes" program posted only a few days ago by Bill Davidsen (davidsen@crdos1.UUCP). This happenned twice in a row. Is there more information I can provide, maybe a fix I don't know about?
