I bought the Mylex 20 MHz motherboard and a faster drive/controller. My other components stayed, including a 3COM 3C501 ethernet card. The card works fine in the '386 when I use TELNET to call my VAX 8650 over the ethernet line, but fails when I use ANET3 (I use DOS 3.1) to dial my Novell server over the same line. Both connections worked fine on the '286. The Novell connection does work only if I slow the '386 system clock speed down from 20 MHz to 8 MHz. Anyone have another version of ANET3 that will work at the faster clock speed? It's an annoyance, plus when I dial in remotely with Carbon Copy 4.0, CC doesn't seem to recognize the CTRL-ALT-MINUS combination needed to slow the clock speed. Thanks.
