Message-ID: <4829@batcomputer.tn.cornell.edu> Date: 17 May 88 17:01:04 GMT Reply-To: saponara@tcgould.tn.cornell.edu (John Saponara) Organization: Cornell Theory Center, Cornell University, Ithaca NY Lines: 43 References: I found some minor bugs in 18.51 GNU Emacs (listed below) but now I find I can't reach them at their official bug reporting address. Could someone tell me? Also, is there a site which has 18.51 available as either: (a) all the separate files (so I could FTP only those of mine which I need - for some reason my 18.50 to 18.51 patches don't patch. I think it's because the 18.50 version I had was 18.50.1, not 18.50.0 - has anyone else had this problem?) OR (b) the whole 18.51 release, but split into bite-sized chunks (I can get about 700K from prep.ai.mit.edu before it gives me a timeout at 900 seconds)? Anyway, here's my attempt at bug reporting (trimmed down to the essentials): Subject: Returned mail: User unknown ----- Transcript of session follows ----- >>> RCPT To: <<< 550 mly-wh... User unknown ----- Unsent message follows ----- To: bug-gnu-emacs@prep.ai.mit.edu Subject: bugs in dir.list I tried patching using the diff file for 18.50 -> 18.51 and had a lot of problems. Luckily, you added a `./dir.list' file to the distribution and I could find what files I needed to recover. However, dir.list has two bugs: 1) You list `lisp/bg-mouse.elc' but no `lisp/bg-mouse.el' This doesn't make any sense: all *.elc files should have the *.el file with them. Please fix. 2) dir.list is misleading: you do not include `.*' files, such as `src/.gdbinit', in the listing. Please use the `-a' option for `ls'. That's all, keep up the great work!
