Ok so I tried using the code in gnewspool.el like the header says but no go -- no .gnewsrc is generated and it still trys (and fails) to access my local nntp site (I used our machine name there). But it does leave me with a Gnews buffer and a running process that needs to be killed when you exit emacs. So the questions are: Does anyone have a (relatively) short tutorial on how to set up Gnews? Has anyone ever gotten the spooled version to work? What is nntp and where can I take a look at the descriptions? Where are the Gnu Emacs Lisp manuals/hints/pseudo-documents? What ever happened to baby Jane? I do have better than reading knowledge of lisp, however I have a much harder time following the intended structure of Emacs than the code itself. Thank you for Your support steve -- Steven D.
