The Escape sequnces worked fine, so that I could always M-x and type commands in full, but none of the Control-characters would map correctly; C-X always acted like C-U, for instance--right to the point of giving me a C-U prompt if I waited for one. Fortunately (for me anyway ;^) my sysadmin got it up soon after I had tried--which is great as I didn't have enough room in my directory for the executable anyway.
