Inspect is not intended as a replacement for lint, instead it provides additional checking. The additional checks include: Dangling elses Extra semicolons after if else while and for Nesting comments Probable operator precedence mistakes Assignment in a conditional context Breakless case statements Missing logical operator Other minor checks Inspect has found hundreds of errors in AT&T products, including many versions of the UNIX operating system. Inspect can also be used for Concurrent C programs but this capability has not been thoroughly tested. The price is $75.00 for source code and $750.00 for binary redistribution rights. The AT&T Toolchest may be reached at (201) 522-6900 @ 1200bps, login is "guest", no password. The Toolchest is the only method to be used in ordering the software or obtaining more information about inspect. Other questions may be directed to: Mark W. Forman (201) 522-6698 Toolchest Administrator RM 5-223 190 River Road Summit, NJ 07901 Please do not send purchase orders to Mr. Forman.
