What we discovered was that you could SPAWN out in our own directory (SYS$LOGIN) but not anywhere else (without privelage). Apparently, there is some temporary file creation activity going on in the background... but I haven't followed up on it. Maybe by changing the protection in the directory you want to SPAWN from..??
