The review is for the PowerStation-220, a VT220 emulator from KEA Systems. (Yes, I realize that the subject original article was directed towards a native mode EDT editor.) The package for $289 consists of a VT220 style keyboard and a VT220 emulator with the following features: 1. 132 Column mode (EGA & VGA only) a. some EGA cards need a $39 add-on board b. slide screen feature available for machines without EGA/VGA 2. Full 8-bit environment 3. User defined function keys 4. Nat'l & Multi-Nat'l char sets 5. Downline loadable fonts 6. True double high, double wide on most CGA,VGA,EGA,MDA adapters 7. VT200, VT100, VT52 emulation 8. TEK 4014 graphics 9. Kermit & XModem protocols built in. The keyboard is wider than the normal LK250, providing a better hand rest. It has a switch for XT or AT compatibility. They mention that they will soon (probably have now) release a VT240 emulator and a PS/2 keyboard. They will sell the emulators separately: VT220-$150, VT100-$99, TEK-$99. However, they will not sell the keyboard separately. The review gave the package very favorable comments. Just a thought; if the package for Boston Business Computing allows you to redefine keys, this may be a perfect add-on for the serious EDT user. I do not have the product, but I clipped the article for reference. Currently, I have better things to do with $289. I am in no way affiliated with DEC Professional or KEA. I just hate my PC keyboard.
