We are both preparing to move out of area one. The question is: to what other area number? If you're running a Canadian DECnet network in an area _other_ than one (1), could you please send me/us the area number you're using? It'll go no further without your permission. And if you send any others you know about, it would be much appreciated. It appears worthwhile that there be some sort of area number registry, simply so that people can avoid area numbers already in heavy use. Obviously there will be people who will be reluctant to have their area number widely known. A registry like this need not disclose that information; it need only suggest an appropriate number to people who need one. Does such a registry exist? If not, it shouldn't take much work; I'd do it myself. /kenw A L B E R T A Ken Wallewein R E S E A R C H kenw@noah.arc.cdn C O U N C I L
