hello, 
here in good old europe you do not only find toothpaste but 
also really hardware:
just in front of me on my desk there is a little box with a power 
connection, a switch and a red lamp which precipitates a little heat:
that is a real internet instrument from the time when Khanyards tried 
to repair cerfbords in order to keep single packet-steamers moving.
this instrument is nothing else than a soldering iron which calls 
itself TCP but to the hell i do not know why. (german manufacturer)
may be darpa should found a museum with little things like this 
so that people at the year 2000 remember what networking is.
