Emacs and some other programs do not use the default pointer as-is but rather copy it, change the colors, and SetPointer() to it. They do this because with their full-custom-screen backdrop window (for 80 columns), there is no visible clue that their window is active unless they have a different pointer for their window. Dmouse probably just acts on the default pointer. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Carolyn Scheppner -- CATS >>Commodore Amiga Technical Support<< UUCP ...{allegra,ihnp4,rutgers}!cbmvax!carolyn PHONE 215-431-9180 =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
