I've got a 1 meg A500 and TWO floppies (grind-grind, grind-grind, oh god I'd
love a big fast hard disk :)  but the startup-sequence I use should work fine
for a one floppy system, you just need an extra disk swap during startup.

What I did was take all the stuff in the sys1:bin dir and stick it on another
floppy, along with emacs. Then in the sys1: startup I use REZ to rez everything
on that floppy, except for "as", which needs to be in RAM: or VD0: so cc can
find it. This gives lots of room on sys1: for additional tools, libs, whatever.
If you aren't familiar with REZ, or it's ilk, check them out. Much better than
putting progs in RAM:, only one copy in memory and already loaded. (Yes, "rez"
is now a verb :)  Anyway, I stick SDB in sys1:c, along with dmouse, conman, arp,
and some other miscellaneous stuff. The only diskswaps you should have to do is
for libraries you can't cram into sys1:, and work disks for large sources.
