There was a discussion of the Aegis internal format about a year ago. You could try to use that. I think Leo is on the money with the NAPLPS suggestion. Check out the Byte issues of circa 1982/1983 for their two-part article on NAPLPS. It is a real nice design. Should we call it NPLP or NAPL or ... ?
