The hole in the ribbon and jamming is not necessarily the Ribbon.  This is 
a problem on both the ImageWriter II and DEC's LA75 printers that use the 
same mechanisim.  One pin starts to sick and the moving ribbon jams on it.

The Ribbons are a write off but check out your printer with on of your old
ribbons to make sure you haven't developed a head Problem
