Have you tried clicking once on the drive and going up to the options menu to choose "Install Disk Drive"?  If you do that, you can change the letter & the name of the drive and install it.  Then you have to delete the old drive from the desktop using the same sequence.  Be sure to save the desktop after doing this.  This works for my ram disk as long as I define the new drive with the new letter in the ram disk installation software too.
