Furthermore, I have a cron job that searches my main system's (mcdchg) mail logs for any "large" email that does not originate or terminate on mcdchg and mails me the log entry for any such that it finds. If I find someone abusing our generosity by passing PSPICE via our site, I will kill the uucp job if it has not yet been passed along. Further, I will contact the administrator of the machine from which the abuse originated. "Automatic mail routing" is not a valid excuse for it passing through my site. There is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for emailing PSPICE parts around. People can apparently get it from the makers. If this is undesirable for some reason, then you can set up DIRECT uucp links that do not affect anyone else's budget. My site passes a pretty fair amount of mail around for people. I even tolerate the occasional large email message. But, I cringe at the thought that I may be on the "best" route for multiple copies of a multi-hundred kilobyte package that I've already paid to pass to close to a dozen sites I feed news. I've done my part. No flames accepted. Thank you very much. -- Ron Heiby, heiby@mcdchg.UUCP Moderator: comp.newprod & comp.unix "I believe in the Tooth Fairy." "I believe in Santa Claus."
