How did you select a non-existent file from it's menu of what's in the directory?? It doesn't hang on ALL corrupted files, I keep a few beauties around for testing, and it barfed and recovered okay. The thing I like about fastgif is that it will do a credible job of putting VGA/Amiga multicolor images up on an EGA, using dithering.
