I realize that this does not prove that there isn't a problem, but I haven't seen any problems in areas. I operate a BBS and use StuffIt 1.40A daily. It has un-BinHexed every file that I've tried it on (probably 100 or 150 different files) and I've used it to compress and decompress archive files of 600,000 bytes.
