Xinu, Interactive Systems, and the rest of the companies that only do Unix ports in this battle? These should be the companies forming consortiums to produce a "standard" Unix. I think that the only way to have a "fair" and open operating system is to have it developed by a company that does not make hardware. If I were going to be making computers, it would be pretty stupid to rely on a major competitor for one of the most crucial parts of my system. AT&T should get out of the computer business and go back to just producing software, or quit making noises about creating an "open" system. -- David L.
