I'm the person who sent out the patches to 'rrn' the other day and then
embarrasedly sent out a frantic "DON'T USE IT!" type message when I
discovered a nasty bug.  I think I have my problem fixed, and I intend
to send out the patches soon (after some much more rigorous testing),
but I have a question:

There's a file called "patchlevel" which contains the number of patches
to 'rrn' (in my version, the number is 39).  Should I increment this
number in my version, or is this only supposed to be used for "official"
patches?

By the way, for those of you who missed it, the patches I will be
distributing will make 'rrn' recheck with nntp for newly arrived
news under certain conditions, thereby alleviating the need to
exit 'rrn' and then restart it to see if anything new has come in.
Look for these patches here in 3 - 5 days.
