I seem to recall that commercial aviation got a boost when the Post Office
starting sending airmail.  Okay, maybe they lost a bag or two initially.  But
another hero like Lindbergh would help a whole lot right now.

So maybe the Shuttle program should be removed from NASA's purview and given
to the USPS!  And the private sector can be represented by FedEx...
