A professor here at Yale is thinking about using gcc in his classes to
gain Ansi compatibility.  Does this seem like a reasonable thing to
do, and is gcc "normal" enough that there aren't any bugs that will
throw students for a loop?  On another subject, does gcc output
debugging information compatible with dbx or is the gnu debugger
needed?  Thanks for the info.
