The ZIP people kindly put a zip chip in the Washington Apple Pi IIc at
applefest.  Initial tests show yes, it runs faster than the gs - but if
you do a lot of scrolling the iic is slower than the gs.

I promised zip if they gave WAP a zip chip I would report it on the net.
The zip chip lives.
