FACT: The USA has more natural resources than Japan.
FACT: The USA has a more efficient form of government.
FACT: Business success in the USA is greater than in Japan.
FACT: The USA has more "bargaining power" in most areas than Japan.
 
FACT: Japan has a more organized, more efficient work force.
FACT: Japanese companies have more pride in their products.
FACT: Japanese companies are mostly hi-tech electronics companies,
      so they have little need (unlike the USA) to diversify and can
      therefore enhance and improve their products continuously.
 
Any other questions?  Personally, I try to buy American whenever possible (I refuse to drive a foreign car, unless it's a Lamborghini), but there are some areas -- mostly technical -- that Japan excels in.
