I had this problem when I first got my machine. What it means is that your hard disk is shot and needs to be replaced. Luckily mine was still under warranty. It sounds like yours isn't. What probably happened was that someone forgot to park the heads before moving the machine. (Naughty, naughty!) I don't know what the going rate is for the proper hard drives, but I have seen numerous accounts on here about replacing them.
