Why not put the boot code on a floppy. The boot code hopefully will never need updating, but if it ever did it is much easier to update a floppy than to update a ROM. besides, I don't see having a computer as powerful as a Mac I{ runing as a7wrdiskless workstation, even ethernet is going to be much slower than using a built in rd disk.
