   I am not familiar with the SI controllers (nor with the 11/60 [yes,
   this wizard has never used an '11]), but if the 9400 is a Unibus
   device, you should be able to plug it into a BUA.  It may not work
   there, however.  A number of `Unibus' devices fail when put in a BUA.

I am, but as usual, there are a few holes in my knowlege. We run SI 9900's
on our 750, and used to run an SI 9400. They emulate a Massbus. I don't
know if they will plug into a Unibus. Call SI, if they think they can
make any money from you, they will gladly help, and I would recommend
they do the installation for you; you get some nifty diags and formatting
programs (our diags won't format our 9766; even tho it looks like an
RM05, SI does it's registers differently). They may even let you trade
in your 9400 for something else. Even if you can't use the controller,
you may be able to save the disks.

Is their anyway to connect a Massbus to an 8200?

   I know for a fact that Interlan NI1010s do not work (they pretend to
   work, but put garbage into memory).

No you won't. You can buy one from SI. Cheap at $300 for 4.3 BSD.
Also has online formatting/verification and bad-block updating.
