Agreed that splitting off *only* binaries would be silly. The suggestion for splitting out the comp.sys groups in the same way that unix-pc.all exists is interesting. However it might not work as well as unix-pc did. It was trivial to set up the unix-pc net because they already ran unix and no software had to be developed. It wouldn't be so trivial to put onto peoples' individual machines, but would have to be as it is now on machines at school/work. But then, this is just me talking. Just because I think it wouldn't work as well doesn't mean it won't work... There is probably one good reason for going through a renaming of the comp groups.
