In particular one of our neighbours is on internet, and so by sending to something like: lakart!dg@mirror.tmc.com, or lakart%dg@mirror.tmc.com, or dg%lakart@mirror.tmc.com an internet person should be able to get through to me. The question I have is this: is there a "correct" format for doing this - I gather the '%' format is used but ....., and our uucp mailer would do odd things with the first (it would parse out the '!' first - send to lakart (i.e. here) and then try to forward to dg@mirror.tmc.com). I gather that I am stirring up an old hornets nest by asking this, as there has been much discussion on the net of different mail path formats, so I ask for responses by e-mail (I've also munged the followup line :-) :-), in addition I don't usually read here so you'll HAVE to E-mail to get to me anyway. -- dg@lakart.UUCP - David Goodenough +---+ | +-+-+ ....... !harvard!adelie!cfisun!lakart!dg +-+-+ | +---+
