Sounds like a lawsuit that will go nowhere fast. As I understand it, S.E.A.'s ARC was based upon the published (and copyrighted, AT&T) source for the Lempel-Ziv compression algorithm so if anybody should be firing off complaints it shouldn't be S.E.A. Phil Katz at least improved upon the algorithm. Sounds like a nuisance lawsuit to me and, frankly, I'm surprised to hear about it since PKARC has been out and about for a few years now.
