You might want to look into desktop publishing. While it will require an investment into a laser printer (most probably postscript compatible), the income can repay the investment over time. Organizations to pitch to: anyone doing a newsletter (schools, churches) restaurants (for menus), small advertisers (although most newspapers do this for minimal charge). Also, sales organizations have a need for someone to organize/layout presentations. One thought to keep in mind is training. Regardless of the avenue your wife may choose to pursue, she will not have an income for a while. It will take time (twice as much as you plan :-) to learn the application(s) and to find customers. The first few assignments will take FOREVER to complete; throwing in the towel will seem like a reasonably good idea. But take courage - it does get easier.
