Just the mouse can only be used as a paper weight. The Apple //e mouse is often offered by mail-order houses. Check _A+_ or _Computer _Shopper. A credit card order will get it to you quickly the official name is AppleMouse //. The card is necessary for, and will permit, mouse operation on Apple II, II+, and //e. The AppleMouse II card can go into any expansion slot (I/ve never tried 3, but perhaps it would work). Apple recommends slot 4, but that doesn't seem necessary.
