As the unofficial spokesman for J.R. "Bob" Dobbs on the net, I'll have to put the explanation of this 'phenomena' as follows: A. It isn't really "Bob", but the evil anti-"Bob". A tool of the dupes of the conspiracy to confuse the followers of "Bob" into doing stupid things. Like for example, the purchasement of a computer known as the Atari ST. B. The engineers at Atari after sitting back and realizing what they done also realized that they needed a LOT of help. When help's 'a needed', "Bob" is the one to be pleaded. They put the "BobsHead" in as a last ditch effort. C. It really is one of the few genuine "Bob" miracles. I might add, that this has happened two other times. The "BobsHead" has divined itself to appear on a dinner roll, then later in an unconnected incident, on a flour tortilla. The ST fits perfectly in this class. D. It isn't really "Bob" or anything like "Bob", but Jack Tramiel smoking a bloated cigar. Actually, I've read something to this effect in an ST magazine. Although "Bob" hasn't divined what personal computer he owns, if he owns one at all, I tend to suspect that he uses an Amiga. After all, the band "Devo" is a very big part of the Church of The Subgenius. The band members use Amigas... Need I say more? Second, I would take a 16 color 640x400 picture of "Bob" over a cheap 40 column imitation any day. I might add that when "Bob" is viewed on the Amiga in this resolution, he almost shimmers. You can feel the "slack" being radiated from his image. The above is not intended to be the match of a fire, but simply an explanation from an unofficial source. I have heard legends of past Amigans being flooded with ST fanatic mail. I do not wish this to happen. However, if you would like me to mail you the glorious image of "Bob" that I described above, I would be more than happy.
