If your question is important, then take the time to read the answers in the newsgroup. If it's not worth your time to look for them, then it's not worth my time to write a response. Most questions are of interest to more than one person. The answers undoubtedly benefit many. I don't see how redundant answers should be much of a problem. If somebody else has answered the question in the newsgroup or notefile, and I have nothing to add, then I won't send a redundant posting. People often promise to summarize, but frequently don't bother. If they're "too busy" to read the news/notefile for the answer, then what makes you think they'll take the time to summarize it for everybody else? Finally, every question doesn't have a unique answer. It's often useful to generate a DISCUSSION.
